People need to see this. Depression, Anxiety, other forms of mental illness that don't "show" on the outside? They are every bit as real and debilitating as any other kind. It is just so wrong that anyone is treated like they have some kind of "problem" for being ill in a way they have no control over, as though they/we/I can just "Get over" it. But, I like to think things are changing, for the better, if slowly.

What's we re facing in 21st century would be more devastating in 22nd century if we not took a step of make a change take mental health issues seriously

Why call depression an illness / disease? It's a state of suffering and can be due to environmental or hereditary factors. The language around it makes no sense to me.

I like that they spread awareness. I don't like that they call it mental health awareness and only discuss depression. Yes depression is a big and valid issue that should totally get attention and be discussed. But by profiling it as the only mental health issue you are dismissing all the other mental health issues that exist, some less known that depression that are also valid and really need attention like ASS, PTSD, Schizophrenia, BPD, OCD, Anxiety disorders, Bipolar disorder, Anorexia and Bolimia and the list goes on and on. These disease and the people suffering from them deserve better than to be dismissed because people act like depressions are the only mental health problems that exist.

It was a bad decision to close down insane asylums.

I have a mental illness

Mental Health is a real issue. Stigma attached to it is making people less likely to seek professional help.

Perhaps instead of being controlled by the pharmaceutical industry and government, read a book and educate yourself. 🤷‍♂️

This was really empowering. People don’t want to see beyond or even want to know at all. In Nigeria, talks about mental health issues are not even taken seriously. People see me as a smart , beautiful, jovial lady and see my disorder as a flaw or a divine punishment. But I speak up every chance I get against the stigma because if we don’t who will. Thanks for this wonderful video🙏🏽🙏🏽
